It is no news that since the inception of Governor Oborevwori’s administration, a lot of transformations have taken place in the state especially in the areas of roads. While one cannot do without the mention of the flyovers in Warri and Effurun which their construction is ongoing, many roads in the state have been rehabilitated. Governor Oborevwori led administration, went beyond the state owned roads to that of Federal as two weeks ago, Governor Oborevwori performed the ground breaking ceremony of Warri- Effurun Sapele Road which was deplorable, a contract which was awarded to a Chinese Company, CCeCC to fix.
At present, the rehabilitation of the said road (Warri- Effurun Sapele) is in progress. All to make Deltans have access to good road networks to boost economic activities of the area and make life easy for the people. While one cannot list the number of roads the state government has constructed and rehabilitated across the state so far, it is believed, many have been penciled down to follow suit.
However, in these roads rehabilitation, many of the roads in many communities in Idjerhe(Jesse) Kingdom especially, the Headquarters (Otoro Idjerhe) in Ethiope West Local Government Area, have been left out. Many of these roads especially from Idjerhe Kingdom main town round- about down to Idjerhe Main Market which runs to various communities, among which is Boboroku, a sub-clan, are in deplorable state. Many motorists and cyclists including pedestrians find it difficult to navigate the roads as they( roads) have become death traps to the people.

Speaking to Bailout Magazine over the weekend, many of road users lamented the poor state of roads in the area. According to them, many women especially farmers who use bicycles and motorcycles to transport their farm produce from farm to the market find it difficult to do so. One of the respondents who did not want her name in print said:” This road (points) has been bad for so long now. We find it difficult to bring our farm produce from our farms to the market here to sell. You know, many of us are farmers, it is terrible.” The woman who spoke in local dialect (Urhobo) said, they would be happy if the roads can be rehabilitated especially the market area.
Yet, a young man who identified himself as David conveying a person who in turns carrying bicycle but put it on his head said, the bad road has been a source of concern to them. His words:” The road is very bad. You can see (points), we are carrying our bicycle. The government should repair the road for us”. Many others who spoke said, the bad roads have been the subject of discourse in various communities in the Kingdom yet no aid has been in sight.
