Delta State Government has commissioned, on Tuesday, eight-classroom block built and furnished by Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for Warri Correctional Centre in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.
In his address, the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori said the leadership and the entire team of Tantita Security Services which is headed by High Chief Dr. Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a Tompolo, apart from protecting national assets, they have invested in people’s lives. His words:” Your commitment to corporate social responsibility is both exemplary and inspiring.Beyond your critical role in safeguarding our strategic national assets, you have demonstrated that true security is not about protecting pipelines and infrastructure but also about investing in people”.
According to Governor Oborevwori who was represented by the Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari the project is not just a building but it is a beacon of hope, a testament to second chances and tangible contributions to the rehabilitation and reintegration of fellow citizens.

Governor Oborevwori said since education is a powerful tool for transformation, the correctional facilities are not just academic exercise but a life time one. According to him, the project aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals which is goal 4 on quality education and his More Agenda mantra. His words:” Too many of our inmates come here burdened by poverty, illiteracy and despair. With access to educational and vocational training, they can acquire knowledge, skills and self-confidence to rebuild their lives upon release”.He therefore thanked the Chairman, Tantita Security Services, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a Tompolo for this job done.
On his part, the Managing Director, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, High Chief (Engr) Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi said, the day is a landmark for Nigerian Correctional Services and a day of renewed hope for inmates of Warri Maximum Security Custodian Centre as 2- storey building is made to pursue knowledge and learning. According to him, the building is meant to house the National Open University Study centre. He said, his organization is meant to reach out for both high and low in the society as it is meant to invest in human lives.
His words:” It is also a landmark for Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited as we reach out to the high and low of society, to say no one is forgotten in our society. It is a day that reinforces our conviction at Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited that security is not only about protecting assets and territories but also investing in human lives”.
Earlier in his address, the Controller General of Corrections, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche expressed gratitude to the organization to have sited the project in the correctional centre as the project was coming at a time when reforms are central to the nation’s collective mission under the renewed Hope Agenda of the administration of President Bola Tinubu. His words:” Let me begin by commending you for the courage, foresight and determination you have demonstrated in siting this magnificent project in the Medium Security Custodian Centre, Warri, Delta State…”

According to him, Correctional Service Centre has many functions which include reformation and rehabilitation programme aimed at enhancing reintegration of inmates back to the society. He said, the commissioning of the project has further added to the number of custodian Centres having National Open University of Nigeria study centre which has given opportunity to growing number of inmates seeking education to pursue their career unhindered and assured that the facility would be effectively used for the purpose it is meant. His words:” I want to assure you that this block of classrooms will be effectively used for this singular purpose and that in the next three to four years, you will hear the success story of our graduates.”
The programme which was well attended many including religion leaders and others, climaxed with the cutting of the cake and giving of awards to the Delta State Governor,Rt Sheriff Oborevwore , Managing Director of Tantita, High Chief Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, among others.
