The Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame III has charged the Ugbuwangue Community to protect jealousy the newly built and equipped 80- bed Renewed Hope Mother and Child Specialist Hospital that was commissioned on Tuesday at Ugbuwangue in Warri in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.
According to Royal Father whose speech was presented on his behalf by Chief Brown Mene said, the facility in the hospital is not only to support but promote healthcare delivery of the people. His words:” … Be good hosts to this facility. Ensure that everything that is provided here is well protected and taken care of, such that the use of every bit of it will not be hindered in any way”.
His Majesty Ogiame III expressed gratitude to 20th Olu of Warri, Ikenwoli to have initiated the process some years ago to ensure this project is established in the Kingdom and the role former Deputy Governor of Lagos State,Orelope and of course, the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the federal government played for the laudable project. His words: “… this facility is well cherished and appreciated. We thank the President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of this country”.
Earlier in his address, the Delta Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori said the establishment and commissioning of the hospital in the state is the federal government’s testament to improve the quality of healthcare system in the country. According to Governor who was represented by Chief of Staff Government House, Prince Johnson Erijo, said , a functional healthcare system is central to any vision of sustainable development and today’s life as the commissioning of the project is step in realization of the Renewed Hope of the president’s vision. Governor Oborevwori said ,the hospital is not just a physical structure but renewed promise to advance the quality of life for all Deltans as the project aligns with his More Agenda mantra.
Governor Oborevwori said the hospital will not only attend to critical health needs of Ugbuwangue, Warri but its surrounding communities and urged the people to protect the project jealously to enable it serve the purpose with which it was built. He appreciated the Federal Government, the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and all those who have contributed in one way or other for the realization of the project.
On her part, Senior Special Assistant to the Federal Government on SDGs, Princess Adejoke Orelope – Adefulire said, the healthcare facility in the state reaffirms Federal Government’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare to the most vulnerable segments of the society as it a step towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) especially that of good health and well-being for the people. According to her, the commissioned state-of-the-art medical facility which has modern medical equipment and residential quarters for medical personnel is equipped with operating, theatres, recovery, consulting, laboratory and scanning rooms, private and general wards, emergency cart with full complements, ultra-scan machine and vacuum extractor set. She therefore thanked the President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu,Delta State Governor and Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame for their support for the realization of the project.
On his part, the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comrade Isaac Weyinmi Agbateyiniro said, the hospital will reduce seriously the very relatively high mortality rates that are prevalent in the community and therefore expressed gratitude to the Federal Government, the Senior Special Assistant to President on SDGs, the Governor of Delta State and His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse, III, CFR, the Olu of Warri who made the project possible. Not left is the Board Chairman FMC Asaba, Dr. Mary Alile Idele. She said, the hospital would take care of health needs of the people community, the state in particular and the country at large.
The commissioning of the project which was graced by many people especially sons and daughters of Iwere land both at home and diaspora climaxed with the cutting of the tape, inspection of the facilities and football match played at Olu’s palace main field to the admiration of all.
