The newly built and commissioned FUPRE SUG Bus-stop

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun Uvwie Local Government, Engr. Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh has commissioned the institution’ bus-stop built by Students Union Government. The commissioning which took place on the campus recently is meant to ameliorate the suffering of the students of the school.

In a chat with newsmen, the President of the SUG Comrade Edemakiosa Etiosa Oghenemaro said, the students Union body decided to embark on the project for the students to have a place to converge while on their way to and from the school. Comrade Oghenemaro who said the bus-stop is unique and would stand the test of time, said, the initiative of the institution’ bus- stop was muted by the Director of SUG transport, Comrade Andrew Okikioluwa Peace – 1st and 3rd SUG Director).

His words: “We deemed it necessary to build this bus- stop to ameliorate the suffering of students.When they are going home, they should have a place to converge while waiting for motor cycles or tricycle riders especially during the rainy or harsh sunny weather.” Comrade Oghenemaro said, plans are underway for the students Union body to acquire shuttle bus to further help the students to and fro school especially from the entrance of the University community.
According to him, by this, the motor cycle riders(motor bikes ) and tricycles riders(keke) would have a place to park and wait for students to board them on campus instead of their indiscriminate parking on campus.
Comrade Oghenemaro said, because of the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh’s contributions to the growth and development of the institution while in office for the past five years, the students Union body has dedicated the bus-stop to him.
