The Chairman, Delta State Universal Basic Education (UBE) Hon. Barr. Samuel Marierie has bagged post graduate degree in Education at Delta State University Abraka. He is among those that convocated in the Delta State University Abraka 17th Convocation ceremony held on Saturday.
In a chat with newsmen after the Convocation ceremony, Hon Marierie said, though he is a lawyer by training, but he deemed it necessary to acquire knowledge in education to enable him function well in his portfolio. According to him, he did not attend the institution for the certificate’s sake but he came out best among his peers in the class. He said, it since leaning is a continuous process, he has to learn to enable him to know more.
His words: “Although l am Lawyer by training but as state Chairman of Universal Basic Education (UBE) l need to know about the office l am holding, that is why, I came to read Post Graduate Degree in Education and today, l am certified. Not just reading it, I came out the best in the class with a distinction”. The State Universal Basic Education boss said, he would keep up learning to enable him function very well in the office adding, the State Governor, RT Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori was pleased to see him because that is what he wants as this would enable him know that he has put the right person in the right position.
His words:”To the glory of God, we have completed this and we can impact more, that is the beauty of what the Governor wants. You see, the Governor was very happy when he saw me, he knows that he has put the right people in the right position who can really deliver. Because, there is no way you can be heading education without knowing so much about education”
Hon. Marierie who happiness was written all over his body expressed gratitude to God Almighty to have graduated successfully. His words:”l feel happy and fulfilled. It is something we thank God about, so, it is to the glory of God“.
