The Nigerian Journalism Community, especially the Ijaw Publishers’ Forum is grieved as Publisher of Daily Watch, a renowned Journalist, Mr. Cletus Opukeme loses mother, Mrs .Goodluck Opukeme on Friday, September 20, after a brief illness at a private hospital in Sagbama, Bayelsa State.
In a press statement, Mr. Cletus Opukeme expressed deep sorrow for his mother’s passing and expressesd gratitude for the outpouring of supports from among colleagues and those concerned.
Born on February 15, 1951, in Tuomo Town, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Mrs. Opukeme was a pillar of hope and aspirations to her family in particular and community at large. Part of the statement reads:“The Opukeme family is deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved matriarch, Mrs. Goodluck Opukeme. Her passing leaves a void in our lives, but we take comfort in the memories of her love, wisdom, and unwavering supports.
According to the statement,Mrs. Goodluck Opukeme’s legacy will be cherished by her family, friends, and the community as she touched many lives positively in various ways while she was alive. . According to the statement, since she passed on, condolences have continued to pour in for Mr. Cletus Opukeme and his family.
Part of the statement reads:”Mrs. Goodluck Opukeme’s legacy will be cherished by her family, friends and the community. She touched lives positively while she was alive”. The statement said, the family will convene to determine the formal burial date, which will be announced shortly.
