Police in Orerokpe in Okpe Local Government Area Delta State have arrested two suspected armedrobbery gang named, Joshua Emeofe, ‘m’ aged 20 years and Raymond Ejinyere ‘m’ aged 18 years and recovered one locally made gun. The suspects were arrested due to a distress call on the Police by an indigene of Orerokpe that four hoodlums armed with a gun attacked and dispossessed them of one(1) Iphone Xr,one(1) iphone 6s, one(1) Tecno spark 2, one(1)i phone Max, Camon 19 and UBA Atm Card at gun point. According to the Press Statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, when the Divisional Police Officer got wind of the report, he mobilized his men on a patrol to rescue the victim
The statement added that, when the hoodlums sighted the Police, they (hoodlums) took to their heels but the team was able to arrest the suspects while other members of the gang escaped into the bush. The statement said, one locally made cut-to- size double-barrel gun,and two live cartridges were recovered from them. The statement reads in part:”the hoodlums took to their heels on sighting the police but the team succeeded in arresting of the suspects named,Desmond Ejinyere (m) 18 years,…and when the police combed the bush, another member of the gang named Joshua Emoefe (m) and 20 years was arrested also…” The statement said, efforts are on to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.
