As 2023 general elections draw closer, the candidate on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) for Ughelli North Constituency II, Hon. Frederick Mukoro said, he is poised to actualize the rapid growth and development of the area by attracting the necessary projects for the people if given voted for, come 2023 general elections. Hon. Mukoro stated this in a chat with Bailout Magazine in Ughelli on Tuesday. He said his people have not really got the dividends of democracy for the past years as they are lagging behind in the scheme of things adding, when he assumes office, the first thing is to ensure that he creates employment for the people especially the teeming graduates in the area. Speaking further, he would attract schools where the children would learn, hospital where people, especially the pregnant women, would have access to health facilities among others.
On how he would be able to achieve these projects within four years he would be in office if given the mandate, he said:” I will start with stomach infrastructure. Our people need better conditions of living and to actualize this, is to provide jobs for our people especially the youths while our women that are involved in small scale businesses would be supported with cash to boost their businesses and those who intend to start a petty trade but without money would be empowered – all to put food on their tables”.
On how the people can still trust anybody contesting for this position when they have faced with many failed electioneering promises, he said, the people should forget what has transpired in the past adding; he would always stand by his words. Hon. Mukoro who said, it would not be necessary to state all what the people stand to benefit when he assumes office said, he does not believe in many words but actions.
He said:” I don’t like saying many words, I believe in action, all what I want to tell my people is that, they should forget what had transpired in the constituency in the past in reference to underdevelopment and look ahead of what I have for them when I am voted for, come 2023 general elections. We know, many people who represented this constituency in the past never kept their promises, which of course, not in the best interest of the people but as for me, I am a man of my words”.
On how he will achieve this goal, Hon. Mukoro said, among other things, he would institute town hall meetings with the people in the communities that make up the constituency and know exactly their needs, in addition to the ones he already knows and embark on them.
He said:” You know, one of the ways to know the needs of our people is to engage them in face to face interactions in town hall meetings, there, they would speak their mind(s) and I will embark on the projects which they need mostly”.
On how he would be able to defeat his opponents in other parties in the race, he said, he has nothing but go about his campaign saying, he is very sure that the people would vote for him massively and with that, he would win the election.
Hon. Mukoro therefore charged the people to forget what has happened in the past and look ahead for better condition of living as he wants to be in the office adding, the people would testify that he did not just contest but better their lives. He said:”Like I said, I don’t believe on the use of many words, but actions, when I enter the office, within few years, they would know it is no business as usual as they would be able to compare my administration and the ones they had in the past” . Hon Mukoro also called on the people to vote for all candidates contesting under the platform of APGA especially, Chief Great Ovedje Ogburu to get the dividends of democracy.
