The candidate for Ethiope East in the Delta State House of Assembly on the platform of the People Democratic Party in this year’s general elections, Hon. Barr. Arthur Akpowowo has assured Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) of quality representation if voted for in this year’s general elections. Hon. Barr. Akpowowo stated this when he and his team visited Executive Members of CAN Kokori Unit in Ethiope East LGA over the weekend to solicit for their votes to enable him win the elections.
Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Barr. Akpowowo said he was there with his supporters to intimate and informed you people that he was running for the position of the Ethiope East State house of Assembly to offer a better representative.
He said: “l have been running for this position for long now and if given the mandate, l will not disappoint CAN as a body in any way, my focus will be the execution of the constituency projects through the availability of the constituency project funds, and l will ensure that the Constituency projects are equitably distributed“
He said the primary aims of a lawmaker are to make law that will better the lives of the people. So, as a lawyer, l was going there to propose a bill that will favour the people of his constituents, saying, a look at the constituency today so many projects were not executed, some were not the fault of the project contractor but is the process that involved and he assured the people he would the people quality representation if voted into power.
According to him:”I will ensure that what is due to our constituents will be surely be done to our people, on the area of Empowerment and Employment of our youths, l will not disappoint”.
Hon. Barr, Akpowowo therefore called on the CAN body to come out en-masse and vote massively for PDP so as to enjoy the dividends of Democracy.
In his response on behalf of the body, the Chairman of CAN Kokori Unit,Rev. (Dr.), Onokpanu Emmanuel assured Hon. Barr. Akpowowo of the CAN’s support and urged him, (Akpowowo) not to disappoint them if he emerges the House of Assembly Member.
