As Delta All Progressive Congress (APC) Campaign Organization intensifies its ward to ward campaign for 2023 general elections, and moved to Anioma on Tuesday, the party’s candidate for Governorship election, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has got the blessings of the Royal Fathers among whom are: HRM Agbogidi Obi Nduka, of Issele-Uku, HRM Christopher Uzu Diji, the Obi of Onicha-Olona, HRM Agbogidi Obi Victor Chukwumaleze I JP, Obi of Onicha Ugbo, among others all in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State. The Royal fathers who outlined their needs in their various areas prayed for Senator Omo-Agege and wished him well in his endeavours.
In his address, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege told the people not to allow Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to impose a stooge on them that would manipulate and squander Delta State resources just as he said, he would not continue with the project of Okowa- led administration but embark on his EDGE and BAND Agenda to better the lots of the people.
In a press statement signed by the Director of Communications and Media Strategy, Delta APC Campaign Council, Olorogun Ima Niboro said, the seven and half years of Governor Okowa’s administration has not made positive impacts on the lives of the people. According to him, Okowa- led administration has allegedly received N3.5 trillion, which include the recent N250 billion 13% derivation backlog released by the President Muhammadu Buhari as well as Internally Generated Revenue adding, the Governor went ahead to allegedly borrow N400 billion saying, despite all these, the state has been underdeveloped.
Part of the statement reads:” As if the burden of debts we are going to pay is not enough, Governor Okowa has decided to impose a stooge who would be able to manipulate, to continue the theft and squander the state resources”
According to the statement, Senator Omo-Agege told the people that, they have resolved across the three senatorial districts that, they should not allow Okowa’s third tenure through his stooge Rt. Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori . He added that, he would actualize his EDGE and BAND Agenda to enable Anioma people enjoy the dividends of democracy which have eluded them over the years if given the mandate come 2023 general elections.
On his part, the former speaker Delta State House of Assembly and the current Executive Director, Cabotage Services, NIMASA, Sir Victor Ochei on behalf of the his people, said, he rejected Okowa, PDP gubernatorial candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori saying, Omo- Agege is more reliable, trustworthy and ready to give the people the dividend of democracy if elected. Part of the statement reads:” Sir Victor Ochei speaking on behalf of his people, rejected Okowa, his PDP gubernatorial candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori and PDP, described Senator OmoAgege as reliable, trustworthy and committed to the development of the people.”
